AILA’s Immigration Lawyer Search
The Brief
AILA is a membership organization for immigration attorneys and has not historically had a consumer-aimed arm. But they frequently receive phone calls or emails asking for referrals to attorneys. They wanted a site that would allow consumers to find appropriate lawyers on their own. The site would need to be multi-lingual, and we determined that it would need a higher-than-usual amount of backwards compatibility based on audience research.
My Role
I played an important advisory role in both the IA and visual design of the site, despite not being the lead designer. My HTML, CSS, and browser compatibility expertise was important in shaping the design of the site as well as the overall architecture of it. I was further responsible for all of the client-side/frontend coding of the site. Over the years, I've been the lead designer of revisions to the site.
